Article I
Section I
"All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives"
Article I established the legislative branch of government. This branch is made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate. This branch is primarily charged with making the laws of the country. Also known as Congress, the legislative branch is elected directly by the people.

Article II
Section I
"The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term"
Article II established the executive branch of government, led by the president. Article II also provides that the president is responsible for enforcing the law. The president acts as the head of state. He or she is also the head of the federal government, and the president is the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.

Article III
Section I
"The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services a Compensation, which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office"
Article III established the judicial branch of government. The president appoints members to the judicial branch and is then approved by the Senate.
