Write an Outline
Now that we’ve discussed the importance of brainstorming to find your major points and you’ve looked at how I constructed an outline, it’s your turn to write an outline. Open the graphic organizer, and then read the article and review the slide show “Top 10 Reasons Why Cats are Better Pets than Dogs.” Use the information and your own knowledge about cats and dogs to complete the outline with the following thesis:
Cats are better pets than dogs
because they are easier to live with
and more independent.

When you are finished filling out the graphic organizer, check your understanding to see a possible response.
