As you read, you should be on the lookout for an author’s use of parallel constructions. It is by seeing how other authors use these constructions that you will learn best how to use them yourself.

There is at least one, and sometimes more than one, parallel construction in each of the following passages. The parallel structure may involve words, phrases, clauses, or sentences.
