A similar type of government that has some unique characteristics as well was formed in 1215 in Great Britain. Since 1215, the government of Great Britain has been a parliamentary government. It is made up of 3 components: the House of Lords, the House of Commons and the monarch.

The parliament is bicameral, meaning two houses. The upper house is called the House of Lords while the lower house is called the House of Commons.
