All of these changes affect you today. Imagine how your life would be different if the following things had not happened: people remained living on farms instead of moving into cities for work. Railroads, steam ships, cars had not been invented. Children were expected to stay working on the farms instead of going to school. Women had 13 – 16 children so that they bore enough children to work on the farms. You were limited to only two shirts, two pairs of pants, and one pair of shoes because the cost was too high. All of these are ways that your lives have been impacted by the Industrial Revolution.
