Celebrate Freedom Week is a required celebration and observance of the Declaration of Independence and its impact on American history. In the grade 8 social studies course, there are several lessons that address the requirements.

During Celebrate Freedom Week you are required to understand the intent, meaning, and importance of the Declaration of Independence in its historical context.

This lesson examines the principles and roots of the Declaration of Independence.

Module 4, Lesson 4- The Declaration of Independence: A List of Grievances
This lesson examines the grievances listed in the Declaration of Independence.

Module 4, Lesson 9- The Founding Fathers and Historical figures of Self Government
This lesson features the historical figures associated with the Declaration of Independence.
