The American Revolution, also referred to as the Revolutionary War, is the war that defined America as a country. It was the war where American colonists of the 13 colonies declared their independence from England, their mother country. Freedom and equality for the American colonists were at the core of this conflict.
The American Revolution began in 1775 and lasted until 1783.
