The Texas Bill of Rights is more specific and provides more protection to individuals than the U.S. Constitution. Also, the Texas Bill of Rights is longer than the U.S. Bill of Rights. Close Pop Up

Additionally, the Texas Bill of Rights explicitly provides for the equality of all Texans regardless of sex, race, or color; the U.S. Bill of Rights does not provide this protection explicitly. In the Texas Bill of Rights, protection of rights is extended to crime victims; this protection is not expressed in the U.S. Bill of Rights.
