Texas declared its independence from Mexico on March 2, 1836. The Texas Revolution ended in April of 1836, bringing independence one step closer to the new Republic of Texas. The Republic of Texas faced challenges soon after its birth, but the resilience of the citizens of Texas strengthened the new nation.
There were several issues that faced the early Republic of Texas.
The Republic faced other challenges as well as many achievements until it was annexed to the United States in 1845.
