Kinetic energy is the type of energy an object has that is related to its motion. The faster an object moves, the more kinetic energy it has.
The Equation for kinetic energy is KE = one half 1 2 mv2
Example:
A 500 kg truck is travelling at 15 m/s, what is the Kinetic Energy?
KE = one half 1 2 mv2 = one half 1 2 (500)(15)2 = 56250 J
