Sir Isaac Newton revolutionized the way that we look at motion, and he did it with three simple laws:

  1. An object at rest will remain at rest and an object in motion will remain in constant straight-line motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced outside force.
  2. An unbalanced force causes an acceleration described by the equation Fnet = ma.
  3. For every pair of objects, if object A exerts a force on object B, then object B will exert an equal and opposite force on object A. (FAB = -FBA)
