This is a photograph of the results of a candy experiment. Pop Rock candies were dropped into a bottle of Sprite soda. A balloon was attached to the top of the bottle. The resulting reaction allows us to demonstrate the following three states of matter:

1. The balloon fills from the GAS escaping from the soda. The gas takes up as much space as is availalbe.

2. The SOLID bottle does not change shape.

3. The LIQUID flows and takes the shape of the bottle.
